12 Tips When Choosing a Sentimental Wedding Bouquet Charm For The Bride With a Memorial Photo Picture Frame
By Lisa Copen
A wedding is a time of family and friends, memories and meaningful moments. A memorial wedding bouquet charm is the perfect way to honor a loved one.
When the bride is missing a special someone who has passed away a wedding bouquet charm can be the sentimental piece that makes the bittersweet a little bit sweeter.
1. What exactly are wedding bouquet photo charms?
A charm for a wedding bouquet is a simple and discreet way to add something personal, sentimental, and maybe even "new" and "blue." Karen Louise of One Fab Day says "We're unashamedly in love with today's unique wedding idea: Charms on your Wedding Bouquet." (onefabday.com)
Choosing the right memorial bridal bouquet charm for the big event is not always easy. Whether the bride is having a formal affair or saying her vows in a rustic barn wedding, here are some tips to help make sure her bouquet charm compliments her flowers as well as her sentiment.
2. How do you choose a wedding bouquet charm to honor a deceased love one?
Have you started to browse and are feeling a bit overwhelmed by the choices for a bridal bouquet charm?
Here are a few quick tips:
-
Don’t overthink it – just pick something that makes sense and feels right. It may be "Walk me down the aisle, Daddy" or "On your wedding day my heart is there beside you..."
If you are concerned if the bride will want to use it, just give it to her as a gift and tell her she is welcome to incorporate it into the wedding bouquet or just tuck it away privately to have with her in the bridal venue preparation room. It is a beautiful keepsake whether she chooses to display it in her bouquet or not.

Let go of the need for it to match the wedding theme perfectly. Here at Gutsy Goodness we have
both bronze and silver metal findings. So if the wedding is vintage, rustic, western, Victorian, or classic you may consider the bronze metal.
If the wedding has silver candlesticks and the bride and groom have silver or white gold rings, the silver may be a nice choice. But either way it will look beautiful. And the bride can always exchange her wedding charm for the bouquet if she wants a different color than you've chosen.
Give it to the bride in advance, for example at the bridal shower or the bridal shower wedding bachelor party.
It could be too emotional if you hand it to her moments before heading down the aisle. You don't want her to mess up her makeup or be a wreck by the time she meets her groom at the alter.
"Brought me to tears! She's going to love it on her big day! A must give before makeup!" -Stacie
About the photo... choose a photo for the bride of her loved one... or don't. But don't stress about it.
She may love the personal touch of finding the perfect picture and doing it herself. And we have a template for sizing, cutting, and
a website we recommend for easy cropping.
3. Should my piece of jewelry have photo pendants? A heart charm? Angel wings?
Everything about your wedding day is personal so your bouquet charm should be too. "Flowers can be incorporated into your wedding in so many different ways, but the bridal bouquet is arguably the most special piece of the night. These are the flowers that will be photographed the most in your hands... It's also nice if they have a more personal touch that makes them stand out, which is where wedding bouquet charms come in." (brides.com)
Do you want it to have a quote such as "Dad, You Walk Beside Me Every Day" or "Missing You As I Walk Down The Aisle"? Would you prefer it to have a frame charm for a photo? Or Angel Heart Wing Charms?
What other ways would you like to personalize it? For example, here at Gutsy Goodness you can add multiple charms, a birthstone bead, an initial charm, or a specific pearl color. This special piece is more than just a jewelry product you are choosing, but one that represents a loved one's legacy.
The bouquet charm piece should be one that will be cherished for years to come.
4. How many frames should I have on my wedding memorial bouquet charm? One photo frame? A double frame? Multiple frames?
Consider whether you want it to represent one person or multiple loved ones. For example, it could be "Mom, you walk beside me every day" or it could be "I know you'd be here today if heaven weren't so far away." The second one could represent your mom as well, or multiple frames could include a place for a friend and grandparent.
Consider if you should purchase extra frames now in case someone else later comes to mind. Double check with who you are purchasing it from if additional frames be purchased at a later date. (We do have them here at Gutsy Goodness!)
Although a double frame bouquet charm may seem usual, we have had brides order up to 10 frames to dangle. If ordering 3 or more frames from Gutsy Goodness we make sure to include extra rings so the bride or the florist can arrange it perfectly to her taste.
5. Will more than just the bride have bridal bouquet charms? Do you have a Boutonniere Charm Pin for the groom? Or the bridesmaids?
Although brides are often the ones who have the bouquet charm dangling from her flower, it's not unusual for the groom to honor a loved one with a brooch or lapel pin. A sentimental boutonniere pin is the perfect way to remember someone he has lost. We have boutonniere pins here at Gutsy Goodness.
The bridesmaids may also have a piece of jewelry that represents the loss of a loved one, especially if it was a friend all of the bridal party knew. Sadly, one father purchased 5 bouquet charms for his daughter's bridal party since the maid of honor passed away in a car accident days before the wedding. We hope having something to include her in the ceremony brought these women comfort.
6. When do I give this as a gift? During a bridal shower? A rehearsal dinner?
Although it may be tempting to give the memorial bridal charm as a gift on the wedding day, since it is such an emotional piece that moves the heart, we recommend presenting it to the bride during her bridal shower or other special moment? It may be the gift that causes a few tears and is passed around all the guests at the bridal shower. The best part is when she opens up the box and sees what was inside!
7. Are there any customization options available?
Perhaps you wish to have a pink pearl bead instead of the white. Or you would like to add an angel wing charms or butterfly charm because it has sentimental meaning.
According to Brides.com "Bouquet charms should be subtle (you don't want them taking attention away from the flowers), but still obvious. Other than that, there really are no rules!" (brides.com)
You can choose to have a blue pearl bead instead of white and the gift for bride can also include the "something blue."
8. What kind of material should the bridal bouquet photo charm be made of?
Our bouquet charms are all made from zinc alloy, and are available in both brushed antique bronze and silver. The pendant piece is 30mm (1.18 inches). It comes on a ribbon and includes a pendant, frame(s), and glass pearl bead in white, blue, or we may have a custom color of your choice.
The unique quotation glass pendant is sealed onto glass cabochons.
9. How do I get the photo inside the memorial bridal jewelry frame?
Preparing Gutsy Goodness bouquet bridal photo charms charm is a memorable part of the experience. Choosing the photo and preparing is very personal.
We
can take care of the photo for you with our photo service. We also provide you with all the tools to do it yourself if you'd prefer.
To assist you with your beautiful photo we provide a photo sizing and cutting template that has instructions to print your photo and tuck the corners into the frame. This is inside the box.
You can find the step-by-step instructions at our sister-site SizeMyPhoto.com It will help with cropping, sizing and basic editing.
Do note that due to the small size of the frame, .66x.55-inch, it does not come with a plastic of glass cover. We recommend covering the image with clear shipping tape which creates a bit of sheen and also protects the photo. If you have any troubles we have also had customers who have had a great experience with their local photo center such as Walmart or Walgreen's, making a copy of the photo with the correct photo measurements.
10. How do should the Bouquet Wedding Charm dangle over the flower stems?
Your bouquet jewelry can be tied to the flowers in different styles. Most brides prefer it to be seen so they dangle it on the outside of the flowers. We include a ribbon on the Gutsy Goodness bouquet charms.
If it's more of a private piece then it can be tucked up inside the flowers and not seen by everyone. Ask the wedding florist for tips or assistance.
Regardless of what style you prefer, don't forget to have the wedding photographer feature it in some of the wedding photos. Both styles can be customized with either a single photo or multiple photos.
11. How can I make sure the bouquet charm is featured?
Be prepared for tears when giving the gift. Whether it is a wedding bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner, or a private moments, we love hearing the stories behind the presentation of the charm. It makes a wonderful personalized wedding keepsake gift.
Tie the jewelry piece on with the individual ribbon and temporarily tie it to the the floral bouquet being used during the wedding rehearsal.
There are some things remembered for a lifetime and the inclusion of this piece will be one in your wedding photographs you will look at many years from now. So take the time to share about it with the florist so she can assist with including it in the arrangement.
Tell the wedding photographer about it and makes sure it is featured in the wedding photos.
Keep it for years to come by adding it to a shadow box or other special display after the wedding.
12. Delivery dates: How long does it take to receive the bouquet charm? Order early!

"I'm so glad I bought this, is beautiful and unique, just perfect. Came on time, and perfectly wrapped. This was a gift for my daughter; I gave it to her on her Wedding Day, just after her bouquet was ready. I told her 'I have something special for you, and I hope you like it, please try not to cry, take a deep breath if you think you will.' She hugged me and said, "Thank you mom, I love it, I really love it.'"

I contacted them and they had one in the mail that day so my a dad could be included in the memory charm.
