Running a boutique, any kind of retail shop... takes a LOT of work.

In my twenties I was the assistant manager of a small boutique in Eugene, Oregon.

The kind of shop that the ladies in town would call and say...

"Did you get those new blouses in yet? Because you know I have a dinner on Friday, honey, and I am planning on wearing a bright color you suggested."

I also did the windows and it was so fun to take an item that wasn't moving... put it in the window with a scarf and some decor I borrowed from another shop, maybe a sweater and add some jewelry...

and soon everyone was coming in to try it on.

Ahh... it brings back memories... I really loved it.

Then I moved to San Diego and went to the "Rodeo Drive" of San Diego-- Girard Avenue in the internationally acclaimed La Jolla (pronounced "La, hoya" I quickly learned.) I worked at a high boutique pretending I knew what I was doing.

But I had the opportunity to wait on customers from all over the world.  I did the boutique's windows that were seen by thousands of tourists.

And yes, I annoyed a few customers too because I didn't know yet how to spell city names like San Juan Capistrano. (30+ years later and I still remember that woman rolling her eyes at me when I asked her to spell it.)

So I may not know you yet ... 

but I know enough to know owning a boutique is hard....

So I can assume you must be...
